Uncle ProinsiasHello; I'm Frank Dalton.

I'm a librarian at the Univ of PA Veterinary School's New Bolton Center, out in Kennett Square, PA, a nice mellow gig if ever there was one.

I'm also a banjo player with a passion for traditional Irish music, and I produce a series of concerts and workshop featuring the cream of the crop of Irish traditional musicians, in Coatesville, Chester County, an hour west of Philadelphia. My labor of love there has become The Coatesville Traditional Irish Music Series.

Grays Ferry, Dean's Bar
I grew up in Grays Ferry
... "hung" at 26th and Morris, did parochial school at St. Aloysius (small parish, 8 class-rooms, Sisters of Christian Charity, etc) ... and then Bishop Neumann HS under the watchful eyes of the Norbertine Friars. Some of those padres were really big guys, but I survived.

Truthfully, it isn't all that easy for me to fit in down there in Grays Ferry anymore.

I collect old books about Irish history / folklore / music, and have a pretty good collection of Irish traditional music on CDs, old LPs from the 50s through the 70s, and even 78rpm shellac records from the 20s and 30s. I hope I can find a way to add something useful to this project.

Slainte, Proinsias
